Psalm 119:105 says, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path."
What a statement to declare! We all, if we have been saved very long, have heard and professed these words. Personally I can't read or even hear these words without Amy Grant singing it in my head. You know the tune... Thy word ... is a lamp unto my feet...and a light unto my path, Thy word...is a lamp unto my feet...and a light unto my path...
The thing is ... do we live that way? In today's world we can really grasp the meaning of these words. We all drive down the road using headlights that light the way as we go along our way with the purpose of reaching some given destination. It doesn't matter where we are going, it could be an evening church service, work, the grocery store, a friend's for dinner, etc. Wherever we go as long as its dark, those headlights come on to light the way! They also allow us to see danger ahead. I live in NH. Watch for Moose signs are everywhere for a reason. Its important to keep an alert eye! Headlights allow us to do that.
The Word of God is our lamp that lights the way along our Highway to Heaven and it allows us to identify the dangers that we must stay alert to avoid! So, in order to watch out for the moose in your life and to know the way you should go ... check out His Word for you today! Don't travel in darkness!
