Log Removal

There have been several times where I've written a blog with a strong, upstanding, Christian principle, fully believing every word. Then something rocks the boat and I freak out. My husband has taken to giving me a look I've titled, "Woman, stop freaking out and go read your blog again for the answer."

"Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?" Matthew 7:3

We love to look like we've got it all  figured out. We love having the answers. We love to give advice. It's so easy to tell someone about the speck in their walk with God.

However, sometimes that speck we just gave advice about, is an up-and-coming log in our own lives.

We can give very good advice about doubt, but have a truckload of it at home. We can gently urge our friends to deal with a spiritual issue that we, ourselves, have been ignoring.

The road to log-in-eye-removal starts with recognizing that we all have logs in our eyes. They come in all shapes and sizes. We will struggle. We will make mistakes. We will be human. Don't pretend to be perfect. No one is perfect. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

When you recognize a log, deal with it. The rules of faith don't stop working just because the problem is suddenly applied to you. Any and all revelations of God and His Word is meant to destroy those logs. Amen.
