"I have seen everything that is under the sun, and behold, all is vanity and a striving after wind."
Ecclesiastes 1:14
The author had seen it all, and knew all of it was worthless. A lot of us can relate to the author. We have seen enough to know that a lot of stuff is worthless. Anything that is real, true, and lasting is from God.
"But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord LORD my refuge, that I may tell of all your works." Psalm 73:28
God is our refuge, and the more we draw near to Him, the more we see He is our refuge. We become lost in His presence. Soon, we become completely and utterly focused on Him, and we stop chasing after the wind.
Oh, God, take us away! Straight into your presence! The place where the smoke of today is no longer relevant, where the cares of the world no longer badger us, and where the deceitfulness of the earth can no longer tempt us. Those things have never satisfied us.
It is good for us to be in your presence! Take us there!
