The Perfect Gift for the Perfectionist

I'm one of those annoying people that tries to do everything perfect, all the time, least I fail and someone be disappointed in me.

If you have a perfectionist complex, this blog is for you.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

You know that you have all fallen short and will fall short again. This doesn't stop you from trying to do everything right. From working yourself to the bone to prove that you're good. From trying to be the only one who can do the job right. You try to be the go-to person. You try to earn your place least someone else come and snatch away your hard-earned title.

Stop.

God is telling you, me, and every other perfectionist out here to stop. Our works will only get us so far.

And the good news is that even if your elementary school rival has beaten you at everything and always received the recognition, you have a place. You have a title. You didn't even do the grueling work to get it.

You are saved. You are redeemed. You have been given a gift that no one can take. You don't need to be perfect to receive it.God wants you.

So take a breath.
