Today's thought is a simple one and comes from a verse that we have all heard at one point or another but today it hit me fresh and new and really made me think about the awesomeness of the God we serve!
He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name. Psalm 147:4
What a statement! What a God we serve! He is so amazingly awesome in all His ways! Think about it. Personally, I have trouble remembering what I ate for dinner yesterday or even if I remembered to eat and He knows every star in the sky by name. Every single moment of every single day He not only holds them in place (Job 38:31-33) but He calls them all by name. He took the time to count them, to give them a name. The thing about a name is that it identifies you as special and unique and our God knows them all by name. Not only the stars either! He knows them but He knows all of us, personally, by name as well! The thing is He knows the name of every single person; (as the stars of the heaven and as the grains of sand on the seashore. Genesis 22:17) For all eternity He knows! He knows us by name! He knows them by name! Psalm 139 - tells us that He knows everything about us all individually, special and unique. The psalmist next words say it best!
Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite. Psalm 147:5
