"Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.
But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgement.
For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned." Matthew 12:32
Notice the exclamation point? Jesus is speaking pretty strongly here. He was speaking to the Pharisees and He very bluntdly called them a 'brood of vipers,' and then tells them that they are evil and don't speak anything good. Pretty strong words that are aimed at the Pharisees to make a point about the condition of their hearts and the things they had been speaking with their mouths.
In the process they are also pretty powerful words that remind us to guard the condition of our hearts. While reading today these words jumped out at me, "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things."
Seems to me if you read these words in context Jesus considers the words we use to be good treasure or bad treasure. They reveal the good or evilness of our heart and they determine the outcome of the good things or the bad things that we receive in the day of judgement.
My plan is to pay more attention to speaking 'good treasure' into the lives He has entrusted me with! God Bless!
