"Next up: The Promise"

"These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: "I know your works, that they are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth.
Because you say, 'I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing' -and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked - "I counsel you to buy gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat with My Father on His throne.
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." Revelation 3:14-22

So far we have covered His address, His rebuke, The cause, His solution, His invitation, and now we have His promise; "To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat with My Father on His throne."  To him who 'overcomes.' I looked up overcome in the Strongs. It means to subdue, or have conquest over. So, to him who is able to 'subdue' or have 'conquest' over temptations and the distractions that would take us from wholeheartedly serving Him He will grant to sit with Him on His throne with Him.

He also gives us a key to overcoming with His next few words, "as I also overcame and sat with My Father on His throne." We know that He was tempted and overcame the temptations that the devil brought to Him with the Word. We know that He stayed one hundred percent focused on serving His heavenly Father because of the words that He spoke on different occasions, such as, "Not my will be done but thy will be done." as He was preparing to go to the cross. He didn't serve His Heavenly Father with half a heart. He wasn't lukewarm in His devotion. He is telling us that if we will follow His example and love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength then we too will overcome, subdue and have conquest so that we to will have access to the throne room as well. We will have the pleasure of being with Him if we will stay focused on Him!
