Our Biggest Fan

God wants to be close to you.

Do we really understand what that means. God wants to be close with us. He wants to know us.

Now when you read that statement, it probably sounds a little...stupid. God is God. And He already knows everything about us. So why would He want to get to know us?

Here's an interesting way of looking at it: Movie stars a very popular and their life stories are on the front cover of magazines every other week. And the fans follow every story. Every appearance. Every interview. Every tweet, Facebook, or blog post. They can't get enough! They know everything there is to know about their favorite star. Now, if the fan had an opportunity to meet their favorite movie star in person, they wouldn't pass that up! If they actually had the chance to became friends with the movie star, then they would have a new best friend!

It's kind of like that with God. God allows us to be a star, and He is our biggest fan! He's been following our story since before time began. But He would never, ever pass up a chance to be friends with us directly. To talk to us every day.

Now imagine if God was the star and we are the biggest fan.

God gives us the chance to get to know Him. He wants us to get to know Him, but we often respond poorly. We snub Him. God doesn't snub us when we come to Him. He doesn't ignore us for days at a time.

God is our biggest fan. We need to be His biggest fan, too.
