Wishing Away

"I am the LORD; in its time I will hasten it." Isaiah 60:22a

When we were kids (hi any kids out there!), we would know we were too young to do some things. Too young to babysit. Too young to have our own phone. Too young to go to high school. Too young to drive. Too young to graduate. And the most common response is, "I can't wait until I'm old enough to do that!"

We would wish our time away. We would wish our year away wanting to be another year older. Then we would be satisfied for, like, a day and then start the cycle all over again.

So, first, don't wish your life away. Everything happens in its time.

And second, don't spend your life wishing away. Especially for things that won't live past today. God will do what He needs to do for us in its time. Don't worry. God will hasten it in His time because He is the Lord.
