Forgiven and Worry Free

We know God loves us. We know that Jesus' death has covered our sins, but there are days, when we don't forgive ourselves. There are days, when we just feel like not matter what we do, we will never be clean enough, worthy enough, or good enough for God. Where it feels like every dumb thing we've ever done is proof against us. Without God, that's true, but with the blood, it's a different story.

"For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1

Do not submit to the lie that tells you that no matter what, you are too tainted for God. Do not think that He doesn't want you. Do not allow a yoke to be placed over you. That yoke was destroyed by Jesus. He has redeemed us. He has freed us. He has made us white as snow. When you give into that lie, you are doubting the power of the blood.

God has an ironic sense of humor. I was talking about these things with my husband. I thought the discussion was over, but apparently God had other plans. We started talking about some phone cases my sister-in-law was looking at for her new phone. One of them said, "Hakuna Matata: It means no worries." As soon as I said it, I was just filled with the Holy Spirit. I could not stop laughing because I got it. Do you get it? He is telling us that we are not to worry about such things! It means that we are not to allow that lie to take root in us. It means not to worry about the lie in the first place because God has redeemed us! Fear not, doubt not, but trust God !

So the question is this: are you going to let a lie rule you, or are you going to live worry free?

"The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the  earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us." Psalm 103:8-12
