An Eternal Gospel

"Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people." Revelation 14:6

The phrase, "an eternal gospel" really just stuck out to me.

"He entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves, but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption." Hebrews 9:12

Jesus' sacrifice is eternal. It won't run out, expire, or come up short. It's an eternal redemption, an eternal promise, an eternal gospel.

There are some who believe the time for God and Jesus is long since passed. Or that maybe, now that they are grown, they don't need fairy tales about God. Some would even say God and His message of salvation is outdated.

He isn't just in the past. He is our present and future. "'I am the Alpha and the Omega,' says the Lord God, 'who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.'" Revelation 1:8

This isn't something we can just dismiss as fable. It's truth and life. We eat every day because we know that if we don't, we will die. It's an eternal truth that we know because someone told us. The Gospel is eternal because Jesus (our past, present, and future) and His sacrifice for us will never fade away. It is our past, our present, and the key to our future with Him. This eternal gospel is the key to eternal life. And it's something we had better be sharing with everyone because our time on this present earth is not eternal.

"Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay everyone for what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end." Revelations 22:12-13

The gospel is an eternal truth. And it's a message that needs to be proclaimed.
