"Food For Thought"

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8

We all know that to be healthy physically we need to eat healthy. To eat a balanced diet with foods from all four food groups. Meat, dairy, fruits, and the all important vegetables. To be and to stay healthy spiritually we need to make healthy choices as well! We need good, plain healthy, 'food' for our thoughts. It matters what you spend your time thinking about! It will be reflected in your thoughts and actions. It will show on your face! Check out this excellent example.

And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord. Abel also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. So the Lord said to Cain, "Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen?" Genesis 4:3-6 If what you spend your time thinking, meditating on is not true, is not noble, is not, just, pure, or of a good report, it will show on your face. Then it will show up in your actions. Not maintaining a healthy diet physically has some potentially  serious consequences. So does choosing not to think on whatever things are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and of good report. Make a choice to dwell on anything that is praiseworthy!

Cain chose to dwell on his anger and resentment. He ended up killing his brother. Don't end up killing the "cool God stuff' in your life by dwelling on the junk of the world. Dwell on the "cool God stuff.' Meditate on His word for you. Think on HIM. Praise Him! It will be reflected in your life and the fruit you bear!
