For this cause I bow my knee unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That He grant you, according to the riches in glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus 'throught out all ages, world without end.' Amen Ephesians 3:14-21
For this cause ... I bow my knee... Paul took time to pray for those he ministered to and according to his last words, just before the "Amen," It means you and I are included in this prayer as well.
There is way too much here to hit on in a simple devotional so I'm going to just pull out a highlight that I believe is His heart for us today. "... That ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us..."
We need to remember that the plan is to live abundantly in and through Him! Paul had just asked the Father 'that ye might be filled with the fullness of God.' He then tells us that He is 'able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.' Don't you love how those that get God, go big! What I mean by that is this. If you have an expectation and someone exceeds that expectation than you already have more than enough. If you have an abundance of something than you already have plenty. Paul doesn't stop with those two words. He uses one more. Can you imagine what 'Above' exceedingly and abundantly all that we ask or think looks like? He says one more really important thing here. He says it happens 'according to the power that worketh in us.' Read His Word. Its is full of examples of when God moved in 'exceedingly abundantly above all that was asked' in the lives of those that surrendered to the fullness of God in their lives. They understood, "That its not by power, not by might, but by My Spirit says the Lord."
Jesus said in John 10:10 that "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." The enemy would steal the fullness of God from your life. He would rob you of your abundant life in God by telling you that the Holy Spirit, signs, wonders, miracles and the love of God are not real or that 'they are not for today.' He will try to kill your faith and steal your joy but know this: Abundant life; a life filled with the fullness God; It is possible! After all, Jesus Himself said that He came ...that they (YOU) might have it MORE ABUNDANTLY" So, my best advice, "Get God and go big!
