A Life Without God

Ecclesiastes is the book in the Bible where you hear, "everything is meaningless," "life is smoke," and, "life is vanity."

What do you say to someone who reads that and is like, "Whooh, what's going on?"

Most of us can say immediately why we need God. Because we are nothing without Him. Because we are weak, but He is strong. Because His Son died for us lowly beings. Because He will help us in our lives.

What about the people who feel like everything is meaningless? Like life is vanity? Smoke in the wind?

Why do they need God?

Because, as we've looked, life is meaningless. It is vanity, and is gone before the wind can even get to it.

That is life without God.

God gives meaning to life. He gives us purpose. He makes life not pointless.

Without God, life is a waste. We waste it away, and on what? Smoke.

Truthfully, this is a reason we all need God.

Life is smoke.

But with God, there is so much more to life.
