Is It Time Yet?

Proverbs 13:12 "Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life."

Thanksgiving day. You can smell the turkey cooking. The potatoes are mashed. The cranberry sauce is in the dish. The table is set. You are ready to eat.

Then you hear, "It's not time to eat yet."

All your hopes of piling that delicious goodness into you mouth this second is gone. Completely and utterly gone.

However, when you hear, "It's time to eat!" Joy and gladness flow freely.

Now, this example is kinda silly, but it works.

It can crush someone when their hope is gone, when it is dashed and thrown against the proverbial wall.

Good news. Our God is the God of hope. He is hope. And He is the TREE OF LIFE.

And He is a God who loves to give us the desires of our hearts.
