Integrity is a rare thing in our culture. Fewer and fewer are those who are standing up for their beliefs. It's not popular to stand for the morality and decency that the Bible and Christianity symbolizes. Some people automatically assume that, if you are a Christian, you are judging every move they make.
I myself have been called both ignorant and a bigot for taking such stands, even by people I have considered to be my friends. But those people are not in the majority, even though they are often perceived that they are. So we keep quite, hoping to not offend anyone.
"Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey the commands that I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of age." Matthew 28:18-20
The Great Commission is a hard thing to live up to, if you live in fear. Fear of rejection, fear of alienating people, these are weapons in the devil's arsenal, some of his most used. Because HE IS AFRAID. Afraid of us sharing the Gospel. Lest we forget, our own weapon is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17), and he does not want us to use it.
Don't let him make you ashamed of who you are. Don't let him take your faith. Don't be ashamed to stand for God.
"If anyone is ashamed of me and my message in these adulterous and sinful days, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in the glory of his Father with the holy angels." Mark 8:38
