"Wise Counsel"

    

Psalm 1:1-3

   Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
 
   But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditated day and night.

   He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

Lord, I pray that as your people, we would always be like the tree planted by the rivers of water as we continually draw from your life giving water! Lord, that Your word would be the delight that nourishes our body, soul, and spirit as we meditate on it day and night. Lord, that it would always find a heart that is quick to heed and faithful to obey. Holy Spirit, give us ears to hear so that we might readily receive and thus produce fruit that would not only further the kingdom but cause us to prosper in the works He calls us to along the way! O Lord, that Your wise counsel would always be the only counsel we seek! Amen!
