"Little Guy Warrior"

Here am I and the children whom the Lord has given me! We are for signs and wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, who dwells in Mount Zion. Isaiah 8:18

I don't  know about you but I LOVE THIS shot! This little guy is good to go! Hes got his sword, some pretty good swagger, (confidence) and what looks to me like a pretty good AAAH (battle cry) as well!

What about you? Are you battle ready?

Too often as adults we seem to think we need to see ourselves like this battle ready, armor clad grown-up before we step onto the battle field, but here is the thing that jumped out at me when I saw this amazing shot of our little guy warrior above was this truth. The key to seeing ourselves like this great warrior can be found in this statement made by Jesus in Matthew 18:3

"Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. According to Jesus all it takes to be great in the kingdom is "... is to be like a little child."

I recently went up against two little guys, (a three and  four year old) armed with the cardboard tubes from the Christmas wrapping paper and I'm here to tell you,  without a doubt they landed their fair share of blows! Why? Because they were fearless! They didn't care that I was bigger and armed as well. They just knew they had a weapon and like our little guy warrior above and they were ready to go. They knew that weapon in their hand was to land blows! And they had all the confidence in the world that they could do it as well. And in case you never noticed it or not but every kid going into battle has a great (aaagh) battle cry  as well! In the end I had to call a cease fire because they don't hold back or the don't give up!

How about you and I? Do we look at our sword as a wooded plaything or the powerful weapon it truly is? Do we run from battle or rush in with the faith that we will land a blow! Do we have our battle cry ready as we rush in and take the battle to the enemy? Are we going into battle boldly armed, crying out the mighty name of Jesus as we send the enemy fleeing in its wake?

You want to be a mighty warrior in the kingdom? Be a little guy warrior first! Grab your sword! Your armor! Don't hold back and Go! Go! Go be a little guy warrior and be a sign and a wonder to the nations!

  1. Marie, this is a heartwarming and encouraging post! What a cute picture. My youngest son is 11 and he likes to fight with his older brother. He is so fearless! Great lesson in it. Thanks.
