"The Most Honored Guest!"

Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus feet and heard His word.  But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me." And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her." Luke 10:38-42

I don't know how often you take time to sit in His presence?  I don't know how often or even if you find time at all to sit at His feet. I don't know if you even have a desire to do so,  but I find this passage of scripture keeps drawing me back to that very place. I can picture in my mind the scene above. I can see Mary sitting at His feet, staring up at Him as He speaks to a room full of His followers with an expression of adoration on her face. Totally, completely enthralled with the business of listening; not wanting to miss a single word. Her whole being and attitude declaring to Him that He is the only one that really matters!

Then one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with Him. And He went to the Pharisee's house, and sat down to eat. And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil. Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he spoke to himself saying, "This man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman this is touching Him, for she is a sinner." Luke 7:36-39

Both Martha and the Pharisee welcomed and invited Jesus into their homes. Neither were focused on Him personally, as their honored guest but on the actions of others who were giving Him the attention that said, "He was the one who really mattered!"

Its not enough to just welcome Him into your house. Its not enough to invite Him to your house to dine with you.

Make sure He knows that He is the one that really matters.

Hang with Him! Treat Him Like He is the most honored guest of all; deserving all your attention!

Take time today to show Him that He is the one that really matters. Sit at His feet and soak up all that can be found in His presence! Take time to adore Him! If you do you too will have ...chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from You!
