"The Battle Is The Lords"

Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand. Stand therefore, having.... Ephesians 6:10-14

I love that more and more I am able to wake up with His message for the day already to go in my spirit. As I woke this morning my first thought was "Stand. Having done all to stand. Stand therefore." So, today we will be talking about the word stand. After all it is the one word that is repeated three times in four verses. It must be important!

So to start, I have a question for you. Does anyone out there want to be strong IN the Lord and IN the power of HIS might? I know that your answer, like mine, is a resounding, "YES!"  Of course we do! As believers we want to be strong and mighty IN Him! He said, "Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might." He said to 'be' strong... and in order to 'be' we need to do his next words which were, 'Put on the whole armor of God.'

Why? Why do we need to be strong in Him and in the power of His might? Why do we need to put on the whole armor of God? That answer is simple and is answered by his next words, "so that you may be able to STAND against the wiles of the devil." We, like Jesus, need to be clothed in God's armor for the same reason that Jesus was. We need to stand against the wiles of the devil. We need to stand against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual hosts in the heavenly places. Its not a flesh and blood battle but a spiritual one and all we have to do is STAND in the victory that He provided us with by putting on and being clothed in His power and might (armor).

Check out this verse in Judges 7:16-18 ... Then he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and put a trumpet into every man's hand, with empty pitchers, and torches inside the pitchers. And he said to them, "Look at me and do likewise; watch, and when I come to the edge of the camp you shall do just as I do: When I blow the trumpet, I and all who are with me, then you also blow the trumpets on every side of the whole camp, and say, 'The sword of the Lord and of Gideon!"  Gideon divided the men into companies. Gideon put a trumpet into every man's hand. Gideon gave them all pitchers with torches inside. Gideon like any army commander, leader, king, or sovereign etc. provided his army with the weapons they would need to fight the battle for and with him. We too have been equipped with His armor. The armor of God that will always win  over the wiles of the devil. We've been given the armor and are equipped to STAND against the wiles of the devil.

He went on to say, "Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand. Stand therefore, having..." The STAND part is our choice. If we will choose to stand in the truth of HIS word we win. If we will choose to STAND clothed in HIS righteousness than we win. If we will choose to STAND prepared and ready, in season and out with the message of HIS sacrifice we win. If we choose to STAND in faith believing that He will do what HE says HE WILL DO, we win. If we will choose to STAND in the salvation that HE bought for us at a price than, we win. If we will choose to STAND with the sword of the SPIRIT in our hands, we win. We are well able to Stand against the wiles of the devil if we will just STAND, and STAND some more!

An army can't win the battle if all the soldiers sit down. An army wins the battle on their feet pressing forward, taking ground! 

The battle is the Lords! He will do His part. He has a great plan. He has provided the best equipment as well as sending the power and might of the Holy Spirit to back us up. He has done and will do His part! The only question that remains is will we do ours? Will we STAND and be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might? Afterall, we know that the victory is guaranteed!
